Eagles Fall at Home to Lakeshore St. Joe

The Kalamazoo Eagles High School Varsity Hockey team lost to the Lakeshore St Joe (LSJ) Warriors 4-1 at Wings West Arena Friday night in a non-league game.

The Warriors started the game fast, pressuring and outshooting the Eagles 18-6 in the first period.   With the Eagles short-handed 5 on 4 killing a minor penalty, another minor penalty was assessed giving the Warriors a 5 on 3 power play chance for a little over a minute.  However, the Eagles and goal tender Drake Witt stood tall preventing any scoring and the period ended with the score tied at 0.

Eagles Net First League Win of 2017-18 Campaign

The Kalamazoo Eagles High School Varsity Hockey team defeated the Portage Central Mustangs in a 5-4 overtime thriller at Wings West Arena Wednesday night, 12/13/2017.

The Eagles got on the board first at 2:27 into the first period.  Jimmy Wressel took a pass from Michael Winter, skated right to left in front of the PC net and slipped a back hand shot past the goalie for the first tally of the night.  Portage Central controlled the puck for most of the remainder of the first period.  However, the Eagles defense was able to handle the pressure, successfully killing off one 2-minute minor penalty and preventing any scores.  At 15:03 of the period, Wressel grabbed a cleared puck from the Eagles defensive zone and skated up the ice on a 2 on 2 break...

Eagles Grounded By Jenison

The Kalamazoo Eagles High School Hockey team was grounded by the Jenison High School Wildcats in a non-league 8-3 loss at Wings West Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats came out fast and furious.  Brendan Veltema netted the first goal of the game for the Cats 0:44 into the first period, putting in a rebound during a scramble in front of the net.  Just 21 seconds later, Xander Hall found the net, putting the Cats up 2-0 with a hard shot from near the top of the left circle.   While on a power play, Carter Maxey of the Eagles was able to sneak the puck into the net, cutting the deficit to 2-1 at 10:05 of the period.  At 14:18, the Eagles Zach Blackwell gained control of the puck in the Cats zone and skated behind the net taking the Cats defensemen with him...

Kalamazoo Eagles Kick Off 2017-18 Campaign With Win Over Kenowa Hills

The Kalamazoo Eagles kicked off their 2017-18 high school varsity hockey season with new coaches and a non-league 8-6 victory over the Kenowa Hills Knights at Walker Ice Arena on Wednesday night.

Carter Maxey started the scoring for the Eagles just 2:28 into the first period with a wrist shot from the low slot.  The Knights evened the score 1-1 at 6:34 with a power play goal by Cole Cook.  Later in the period with the Knights attacking in the Eagles zone, the Eagles cleared the puck and attempted a line change.  The Knights goalie left the crease to play the cleared puck but the Eagles Jimmy Wressel streaked down center ice, beat the goalie to the puck and buried it for his first goal of the evening, giving the Eagles a 2-1 advantage at 8:27...

Welcome to the OFFICIAL Web Site of the Kalamazoo Eagles! The purpose of this site is to inform all players, parents, and fans of what’s going on with the Kalamazoo Eagles Hockey Team. We have been affiliated with the Southwest Michigan High School Hockey League (SWMHSHL) for over 28 years.

You are eligible to play for the Kalamazoo Eagles if you attend one of the following schools: Allegan, Bangor, Bellevue, Bloomingdale, Decatur, Delton- Kellogg, Gobles, Gull Lake, Hartford, Hastings, Kalamazoo Christian, Lawrence, Lawton, Maple Valley, Martin, Otsego, Parchment, Paw Paw, Pennfield, Plainwell, Portage Home Schooled, South Haven.
